by Paula Anderson and Jacob Mayo
Writing by Design Media, Inc. a media company that highlights entrepreneurs through its print and digital publications, is expanding its reach to Jackson, TN this fall. The magazine is titled Emerging and Enterprising Entrepreneurs (E3). The publication is designed to increase awareness of underrepresented and grassroots entrepreneurs.
According to research, entrepreneurs are faced with challenges when they start businesses. While there may be challenges, entrepreneurs can find resources to assist during the journey.
Whether it is having space to work, training programs, or funding resources, Jackson offers a variety of small business resources.
One resource is theCO. and it helps entrepreneurs learn the concept of starting a business through the CO.STARTERS program. Katie Weatherford, marketing and communications manager said, “theCO. is building a community of people that understand we're better together. Some of us are tech gurus, some are chomping at the bit to finish a project in the makerspace, some are gamers, some are illustrators and we are all open to learning from each other and supporting each other.”
Mayor Scott Conger of Jackson recommends that entrepreneurs connect with various local organizations like theCO. and the Tennessee Small Business Development Center (TSBDC) according to an audio interview.
Mayor Conger continued to add that there are “resources at the Chamber of Commerce” and he also said that theCO. was another great place to get help. When it comes to starting a business during these uncertain times, solving a problem is the solution states Mayor Conger.
"Entrepreneurs should go for it."
